    Sight loss, at any age, is life-changing: it is both physically and mentally challenging and causes many issues in different stages of life. Through our research we seek to develop our understanding of the key issues relating to sight loss and wellbeing. This knowledge will be translated into action that improves the lives of those with sight loss.

    We are currently looking for a Senior Research Associate/Senior Scientist in Social & Welfare Sciences.

    In the first instance, the post-holder will deliver on a specific research programme supported by the Thomas Pocklington Trust as part of a very busy and fast paced research directorate. For this project, you will be required to work independently and organise your work to meet project deadlines. Secondly, the post-holder will support the lead Scientist to deliver on the early stages of a well-being research programme. This position is initially funded for 18 months. The ideal candidate will have with proven experience in designing and running systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and qualitative interview research in social sciences and/or allied subjects. You will have professional experience of conducting research independently and to deadlines, including writing ethics proposals, recruiting participants, collecting data, using a range of analysis techniques and producing scientific reports.
