Postdoctoral Training Fellow - In Silico Medicinal Chemistry

The Cancer Research UK Cancer Therapeutics Unit, part of the Division of Cancer Therapeutics, is a multidisciplinary 'bench to bedside' centre, comprising around 160 staff dedicated to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. The CR-UK Cancer Therapeutics Unit’s exciting goal is to discover high quality drug candidates for validated biological targets and to progress these candidates to clinical trial. All the scientific disciplines are in place to make this possible, including medicinal chemistry, biology, drug metabolism and clinical specialists.

Two Post-Doctoral Training Fellow positions in computational chemistry and molecular modelling are available in our In Silico Medicinal Chemistry group. The successful candidates will be expected to learn in silico medicinal chemistry techniques and apply them across the CR-UK Cancer Therapeutics Unit portfolio of drug discovery projects. They will provide in silico medicinal chemistry support to our multidisciplinary drug discovery teams, and will contribute to expanding the capabilities of the in silico medicinal chemistry group.

The positions requires a PhD in medicinal chemistry, computational chemistry, computational biology or a related field. Experience of the application of computational techniques in drug discovery is highly desirable.

Informal enquiries are welcome and can be made to Dr Mirco Meniconi ([email protected]). Applications must be submitted online, via the e-recruitment system. Please complete the supporting statement section when applying for the post.
