We're seeking post-doctoral researchers for the prestigious ADMIRE Fellowships currently available through the AMBER Centre (
http://ambercentre.ie/site/admire).
Our drug delivery & pharmacoengineering team within the AMBER Centre are offering a number of multidisciplinary projects (listed below) as part of the Materials for Health Theme with a primary focus in the field of pharmaceutical science and technology but with extensive collaboration with polymer chemistry, biomedical engineering and clinical medicine.
Specific projects:
• Harnessing materials for the development of advanced respiratory therapeutics:
convergence between pharmaceutical sciences & biomedical engineering
• Pharmacoengineering of advanced RNA-nanomedicines to treat cystic fibrosis (CF)
• Development of gene-based nanomedicines suitable for inhalation as targeted treatments for Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB)
The training objectives for the Fellow will include i) develop expertise at the interface of pharmaceutical sciences and bioengineering to develop safer and more effective medical products, ii) receive training in drug product and drug-device combinations development including pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical characterization, aerosol science, in vitro and in vivo drug product testing iii) receive training in research integrity, ethics, communication, networking, research management, research commercialisation iv) get access to a network of academic and industry-based scientists across the biomedical, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries v) have an opportunity to work with leading polymer chemists, pharmaceutical scientists, engineers and respiratory clinicians.
