Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) is proud to announce the launching of the first call of the postdoctoral fellowship programme UNA4CAREER.
UNA4CAREER is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action COFUND funded under Horizon 2020 (MSCA-COFUND-2018) aiming to allow the participating researchers to broaden their scientific and non-academic competencies and improve their employability, as well as to access career development opportunities with a European dimension.
To guarantee this objective, the researcher’s funded projects under this call must be interdisciplinary, intersectoral and international. In this sense, UNA4CAREER is structured on the Una Europa - University Alliance (
https://www.una-europa.eu/), of which the UCM is a member.
Universities participating in Una Europa (
https://www.una-europa.eu/about) will collaborate with UNA4CAREER to ensure that the funded projects incorporate the interdisciplinary, intersectoral and international dimensions by offering a wide range of research groups and non-academic entities associated with them that will welcome researchers hired in UNA4CAREER for long-term research stays (secondments).
NUMBER OF FELLOWSHIPS OFFERED
Twenty (20) fellowships will be funded under the first call of UNA4CAREER.
CONDITIONS OF THE FELLOWSHIPS
On the scientific side UNA4CAREER offers the awarded candidates the possibility to join one of the 94 research groups of the UCM qualified as "excellent" according to an independent evaluation carried out by the Spanish State Research Agency.
On the economic side UNA4CAREER offers to the awarded candidates
• up to 36 months-long employment contracts with competitive salary conditions in relation to the average standard of living in Madrid.
• a top-up funding almost reaching 1000€ per month to cover research, training and travel costs.
TOPIC OF THE RESEARCH FUNDED
The approach of UNACAREER to the topics of the fellows’ funded projects is completely bottom-up. Applications from the four different knowledge areas (Health, Experimental Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences) are expected. However, applicants will be requested to present a joint project proposal with one of the “excellent” research groups at the UCM to be eligible.
