    The appointment will be on UCL Grade 8. The salary range will be £44,674 to £52,701 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

    Established in July 2014 as Cancer Research UK’s first Lung Cancer Centre of Excellence; the 'CRUK Lung Cancer Centre of Excellence at Manchester and University College London brings together the unique and complementary strengths of its partner organisations to create an environment that catalyses imaginative and innovative lung cancer research. The Centre aims to detect and diagnose lung cancer earlier; better predict risk of recurrence post-surgery; monitor disease non-invasively with biomarker testing and control re-emergent and advanced disease through personalised therapy; with the ultimate aim to improve outcomes for lung cancer patients.

    We are seeking a collaborative¨and self-motivated post-doc Senior Research Fellow (Bioinformatics) to work on developing and maintaining robust analytical pipelines and enabling an access portal for data analysis.

    The post holder will be based at UCL Cancer Institute, working in collaboration with Manchester and will be responsible for developing best practice workflows to help automate the analysis of high throughput data (>5PB) generated by a variety of technologies including Illumina deep sequencing.

    They will work collaboratively with other groups within the LCCE and UCL CI to provide high quality computational analysis to inform high-impact scientific discoveries, and will make use of a dedicated on-site High Performance Computing Facility.

    This post is funded for 4 years in the first instance.

    Applications are invited for a Post-Doc Senior Research Fellow with a commitment to high quality research and evidence of independent and original contributions to research.

    Applicants will have a proven track record of pipeline development with version control, bug tracking, unit and integration testing. Strong skills in the field of genomics and desirably one or more of the following: cancer biology, evolutionary biology, statistics, mathematics.

    Significant experience in writing complex bodies of code and coding in the context of a software development environment is also essential.

    Prior experience creating infrastructure for data access based on integrating large data sets is particularly desired.
