We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Researcher to lead a project using state-of-the-art techniques to identify and validate new therapeutic targets in myelofibrosis – a severe bone marrow malignancy. The project will involve a number of single-cell multi-omic approaches, including scRNAseq, proteomics and highly multiplexed in situ imaging of patient samples, as well as in vitro modelling using iPSC-derived megakaryocyte cultures and patient-derived xenografts. You will be well supported by an experienced team, including a dedicated research assistant, postdoctoral bioinformatician and lab manager.
You will hold a relevant PhD (or near to completion: thesis submitted) together with relevant experience in haematology or a field relevant to the project. Experience in one or more of the core techniques for the project (molecular biology, multicolour flow cytometry, imaging, cell culture, inducible pluripotent stem cell models, animal handling)
is essential. A demonstrable interest in haematopoiesis and/or megakaryocyte/platelet biology would be advantageous.
The post is available fixed-term for 3 years, funded by Cancer Research UK (CRUK).
Applications for this vacancy are to be made online.
You will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your online application.
The closing date for this position is noon Thursday 3 October 2019. Interviews will be held 28 October 2019.
