    What You Will Do
    GRI Toi Hangarau, seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work on specified research under the GeoHealth Laboratory work program at University of Canterbury (UC). The role of Postdoctoral Researcher is to carry out policy-relevant and responsive health research being undertaken within the GeoHealth Laboratory (GHL). This is part of the collaboration between the UC and the Ministry of Health that seeks to build a strategic partnership in the field of health geography, spatial epidemiology and Geographical Information Systems. The GeoHealth Laboratory sits within the GRI Toi Hangarau.

    Who You Are
    As the successful candidate, you will be based in the GRI Toi Hangarau at UC in Christchurch, and will also be part of Te Pūnaha Matatini via its early career researcher network. You will have a PhD in Geography or related discipline, as well as advanced skills in Geospatial Sciences, excellent communication skills and experience in collaborating with researchers from different disciplines. A formal background in computer science or social science is not necessary, but an interest in these subjects is essential.

    The GRI Toi Hangarau is a multi-disciplinary research centre dedicated to outward-facing, collaborative geospatial research and innovation. The GRI Toi Hangarau aims to substantially increase geospatial research output, and be deeply involved in connecting research to business, government, iwi and community end users through development of joint research projects, commercialisation, and various kinds of outreach programmes.
