    About Us
The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) is one of Europe’s largest research organisations. Through combining world-class facilities with major international collaborations, and some of the world’s most talented staff, we’re driving ground-breaking advances in science and technology / engineering.

The STFC Centre for Environmental Data Analysis (CEDA) exists to enable the efficient delivery of environmental science programmes through effective data services and computational infrastructure. Substantial infrastructure investment in recent years has given CEDA a high performance data analysis facility (JASMIN) to support the analysis and distribution of data from the European space programme (Copernicus) and the climate model projections underpinning discussions on climate change, and many other high profile environmental datasets.

STFC is one of nine partner organisations that have been brought together to create UK Research and Innovation (UKRI); a new organisation with a vision to ensure the UK maintains its world-leading position in research and innovation. STFC offers a benefits package designed to provide an excellent work/life balance. This includes 30 days’ annual leave, 10.5 public and privilege days, Christmas shut down, flexible working hours, a workplace nursery, an exceptional defined benefit pension scheme, and social and sporting activities and societies.

    About The Role
Within STFC CEDA a team of data managers, scientists and software developers provide new and innovative applications and services that enable end-users to access and exploit atmospheric, satellite and environmental data holdings. CEDA collaborates with leading scientists and software developers from the UK and internationally. Major activities include running Atmospheric Science and Earth Observation data archives for the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), working with the Met Office on high-resolution climate model simulations and supporting multi-Petabyte satellite data processing systems for the European Space Agency.
