The particle physics research group in Liverpool is looking for a highly motivated individual to work with us on the development of novel Depleted Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (DMAPS) in industry standard High Voltage-CMOS (HV-CMOS) processes, aimed at future generations of fundamental physics experiments and other applications.
Your research work will be focused on the design of DMAPS at the ASIC level, submission of the developed prototypes to silicon foundries and experimental characterization of the fabricated devices in the cleanrooms in Liverpool and elsewhere. Experience in the design of analog and/or digital CMOS/HV-CMOS circuits at the ASIC level, and with position sensitive particle detectors/imaging sensors, are desirable.
You will play an important role in the design and characterisation programme of the prototypes. You will work closely with postgraduate research students at Liverpool and with collaborators from UK and international institutions.
A willingness to travel within the UK and Europe, and the ability to communicate effectively with international collaborators, are essential. You should have a PhD in Electronic Engineering, Physics or equivalent. The post is available until 30 April 2023 with the possibility of an extension.
