MRC Postdoctoral Research Scientist

Applications are invited for a 2-year postdoctoral research position in the Reprogramming and Chromatin Group headed by Professor Petra Hajkova at the MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences. The group studies molecular mechanisms underlying epigenetic reprogramming in vivo and in vitro (for further information please visit

We are looking for a passionate scientist to join our efforts to elucidate molecular mechanisms implicated in the erasure of epigenetic memory (at both DNA methylation and chromatin structure levels) observed in early mouse embryo and in developing germ line. For our recent publications please see (Nashun et al, Mol Cell 2015, Amouroux et al, Nat Cell Biology 2016 and Hill et al, Nature 2018). You will need a PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant area and proven experience in the field of epigenetics and chromatin.
The London Institute of Medical Sciences is an Institute funded by the MRC and is a Division of the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College. Based on the Hammersmith Hospital Campus in West London (W12), the LMS has first class facilities and provides investigators from clinical and basic science backgrounds with the opportunity to pursue innovative, multidisciplinary research within the established clinical base of Imperial College. *Salary quoted is inclusive of London weighting. Additional allowances comprise a £1,000 lump sum Settlement Allowance plus a yearly Training Allowance of £850 in the first year, paid in monthly installments. The Training Allowance increases to £1,300 in year two.
