A postdoctoral research position is immediately available in the Vibrational Imaging group, headed by Prof. Carlo Liberale, in the Biological and Environmental Sciences & Engineering Division at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST, Saudi Arabia).
The Liberale group is a multidisciplinary team of physicists, engineers and biologists committed to the development and application of new-generation label-free microscopy methods for biomedical research. The laboratory is equipped with cutting edge instruments and technology in the field of vibrational micro-spectroscopy. Additionally, KAUST offers exceptional infrastructure for scientific research and is equipped with state-of-the-art core facilities for imaging, characterization and micro-\nano-fabrication.
We are looking for an ambitious and self-motivated post-doctoral researcher to work on the development and application of a novel fast and broadband Stimulated Raman Scattering microscopy system, in the framework of a recently awarded grant and of an interdisciplinary project investigating lipid dysregulation in cancer cells.
A Ph.D. degree in engineering, physics, or a related field is required. The candidate must have hands-on experience with optical instrumentation, optical microscopes and ultrashort pulse laser sources. Proficiency using Matlab and LabVIEW is preferred. Experience in image analysis and Multivariate Analysis of spectroscopic data will be considered a plus.
The offered appointment is a full-time research position with a two-year contract.
