About ZiO Health
ZiO Health is a Biotechnology company that has developed novel platform biosensor technology. Our multi-functional electronic devices can be used for measuring, testing and detecting the molecular composition of chemical and biological substances for the presence, absence, or quantity of target molecules.
ZiO have developed a platform that can be used in a number of applications; Home diagnostics (including bodily fluid testing: Blood, Urine, Saliva, Breast-milk), point of care devices and customized solutions for non-healthcare applications. Each application has an associated software component specific to the product’s function.
Under our mainland China brand, ELOSIA 易来测, our initial product includes home use devices to test water, food & formula milk quality for environmental influenced contaminants and other contaminants. Mothers can optimize their breast milk quality through regular monitoring and personalized health advice through our software component.
A taste of what you’ll do:
● You will join an international, multi-disciplinary and close-knit team passionate about inventing new analytic technologies to make positive impacts on society.
● We require a highly motivated scientist to lead the ZiO Health laboratory in London, working with the ZiO Health laboratory in Shenzhen, China. Orientation will be in Shenzhen, China followed by frequent trips to Shenzhen as needed.
● You will be responsible for leading projects on the design, testing and development of new biosensor products in the London laboratory.
● As lead scientist in our London location, you will also be responsible for ensuring that all projects and researchers within the laboratory follow disciplined experimental protocols and work to the highest degree of safety. You will also be partly responsible for building the research team in London.
● We require excellent team management, project management and problem solving skills to drive innovative projects forward in the laboratory.

Qualifications
● PhD in biosensors or electrochemical sensors or material science or related research fields.
Or
● Masters with at least 3 years industrial experience in biosensors or electrochemical sensors or material science or related research fields.
Requirements
● Knowledge/Experience
o Electrochemical sensors experience, experience using electrochemical methods and techniques.
o Experience in sensor design, fabrication and characterization
o Experience in development, testing a industry or consumer product
o Experience of managing a close-knit team and project management
o Grant writing experience preferred.
● Skills and Abilities
o Clear presentations and clear communication
o Well organised and leads by example
o Ability to work on several projects and conduct experiments in parallel
o Work with and manage suppliers in London
o Be involved in writing patents and technical documents
o Undertake appropriate administration tasks associated with project management.
