Applications are invited for two full-time, two-year postdoctoral fellowships to join a team working on a European Research Council-funded project entitled ‘Settler and Indigenous Writing in the British-Controlled Southern Hemisphere, 1780-1870’ (SouthHem).
SouthHem is a five-year (2016-2021) comparative study of the literary cultures of nineteenth-century British settlers, Indigenous populations, non-European diasporas, and mixed-race peoples in three transnational zones: 1. Australia and New Zealand (Oceania); 2. the Cape Colony and Natal (Southern Africa); and 3. Singapore, Penang, and Malacca (South-East Asia). The literatures considered in this context include writing in English, translations into English, transcriptions, and writing in languages of origin. PD1 Salary: €37,223 - €43,029 per annum
PD2 Salary: €44,266 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
