ICFO is offering a postdoctoral position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.
The Functional Optoelectronic NanoMaterials group at ICFO, led by ICREA Prof. Gerasimos Konstantatos, is looking for a postdoctoral fellow to develop infrared light emitters based on quantum dots.
The candidate will join a multidisciplinary team comprising physicists, material scientists and chemists to design, develop and characterize a new class of light emitting and laser diodes in the infrared based on colloidal quantum dots.
REQUERIMENTS AND CONDITIONS
Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future) in Applied Physics or Electrical Engineering, prior to taking up the position.
The incumbent should have demonstrated expertise on the design, development and characterization of light emitters based on nanomaterials. The candidate should also have strong knowledge on the physics of light emission in nanomaterials and hands-on expertise in setting up optical experiments. Expertise on the design and implementation of set-ups for lasing/ASE measurements will be considered an asset. Expertise in nano/microfabrication of photonic structures will also be considered positively.
