Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Scientist position in the Group of Dr Roger Williams to carry out structural and functional studies of mTOR-containing complexes. The programme involves cryo-electron microscopy, X-ray crystallography, H/D exchange mass spectrometry, as well as other biophysical and biochemical approaches.
You should have a PhD (or be due to complete a PhD within 6 months of applying) in biology, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry or a related discipline and should have a strong interest in structural approaches in molecular biology. You should also have experience in one or more of the following techniques: cryo-electron microscopy, X-ray crystallography, enzyme kinetics, mass spectrometry or biochemistry of signal transduction.
Successful applicants will be awarded a 3 year Career Development Fellowship/MRC Postdoctoral Training Scheme position. The fellowship is a Training and Development position for a Postdoctoral Scientist who has recently completed their doctoral studies, or is moving into a new research discipline.
This 3 year post is funded by Cancer Research UK to focus on the structural biology of mTORC1 assembled with its regulators on lysosomal membranes.
