Duties and Responsibilities
The Thanh group at UCL Biophysics Group, Department of Physics and Astronomy.
The aim of the project is to develop a manufacturing methodology for the synthesis of iron oxide nanoparticles (NPs) for use in healthcare. The proposal assembles a multidisciplinary team at the Chemistry/Chemical Engineering interface with complementary skills to address the manufacturing challenges of making high quality NPs with tunable size, morphology and surface functionalization. This project is supported by the EPSRC and is in collaboration with the UCL departments of Chemical Engineering, and an industrial consortium.
This position is funded for 1 year in the first instance.
Key Requirements
The successful applicant will have a PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science and expertise in iron oxide nanoparticles synthesis and characterisation.
Candidates should also have excellent written and verbal communication. Knowledge of microfluidic reactors is desirable.
