This new post offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled early career Quantitative Geneticist to join AFBI’s livestock and genomics research team. AFBI’s instrumented farm using novel digital technologies is currently capturing mega-flows of phenotypic data linked to genotyping of all the livestock. This provides the opportunity for a Quantitative Geneticist to build an international reputation in the arena of livestock genetic improvement as well as impacting on better farming practices. The successful candidate will manage this high-priority programme within a well-established and multi-disciplinary scientific group, and be supported by a database manager of the phenotypic biobank. AFBI is eager to attract the best candidates and to support them in furthering their careers within an academia and Government/industry fora.
