PostDoc on the predicted impact of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles on the Irish roads network

ITS Ireland is commissioning one, 12-month, postdoctoral bursary award for 2018-2019
(commencing in September 2018). Proposals which address the predicted impact of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) on the Irish national road network are invited. The objectives of this research are to understand how CAVs will affect road transport in Ireland and to identify what needs to be done now in order to maximise the opportunities that CAVs will bring. The focus of the research will be divided into three strands: the first two will be examinations of the anticipated impact of CAVs on road safety and traffic management; the third strand will be an assessment of policies and structures that would need to be put in place in order to optimally manage the introduction of CAVs. Candidates should refer to www.itsireland.ie for further details.
