(010445) UCD Post- Doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or Level 2



    Applications are invited for a temporary post of UCD Post- Doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or Level 2.

    SFI-Pfizer Biotherapeutics Innovation Award Programme (BIAP) supports a collaborative partnership between Pfizer and academic institutes to translate scientific discoveries into new medicine.

    The aim of this project is the development of a biotherapeutic drug candidate directed against a novel
    target/pathway in the area of oncology. The successful candidate will develop new or advanced research skills and competences in translational cancer biology. They will collaborate with Pfizer scientists in Dublin and at the Center for Therapeutic Innovation (CTI), San Francisco, with the goal of validating a potential drug candidate that can advance into clinical testing.

    The position is based University College Dublin and involves undertaking a specific research programme under the direction and supervision of the PI. Experience in the growth and culture of mammalian cell lines and patient-derived primary cells, ELISA assays, cell proliferation/cell death/cell migration/invasion assays, SDS-PAGE and Western blotting is essential. In vivo experience with cancer mouse models is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills is also essential.

    Salary: PD1: €36,854 - €42,603 per annum. PD2: €43,828 - €46,389 per annum.
    This position may be appointed at either UCD Post-Doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or Level 2 depending on the relevant qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
