We are looking for an excellent and highly motivated postdoc candidate or experienced researcher interested in research on the mRNA-templated generation of peptides and drug-like molecules as gene expression-specific initiators of apoptosis. The research project „TRIGGDRUG (ERC-Advanced Grant)“ includes the establishment of cell lines stably overexpressing cancer-specific mRNA, cell-based assays, and novel approaches for the detection and quantification of mRNA. Therefore, nucleic acid-derivatives (collaborative work with chemists) will be investigated with respect to their specificity/reactivity and will be used for mRNA template-mediated transfer reactions. The project aims for novel approaches for cancer diagnosis and therapy and includes assay development and cell biological studies using modern analytical methods, e.g., fluorescence microscopy. It includes teaching of scientific coworkers and publication of scientific results.

University and PhD degree in (chemical) biology/molecular biology/cell biology (preferably with very good results); experience in cell biology and molecular biology (e.g. cloning, ELISA, blotting, stable transfection), ideally experience in fluorescence microscopy and data processing, very good communication and English skills, capability of interdisciplinary work.
