to study the role of chemokine receptors CCR8 and ACKR1 in chronic inflammation. Individuals
of African ancestry for example carry a variant for ACKR1 which leads to its lack of expression
and an alternative pattern of hematopoiesis. Using atherosclerosis as a disease model for chronic inflammation, the project will interrogate the cell-specific (neutrophils, monocytes and dendritic cells) and systemic effects of both receptors in inflammatory responses in atherogenesis and atheroprogression in mouse models and human samples. The postdoc position is part of the SFB 1123
