Full-time fixed term for 12 months with possibility of a further 12 months extension subject to funding, Level A, remuneration package: $106K-$110K p.a. which includes base salary, leave loading and up to 17% superannuation


About the opportunity

We are seeking to appoint Postdoctoral Research Associate to work as part of the multi-disciplinary research group whose project will specifically relate to developing a model of implementation to translate an evidence-based program into community health care practice. This project is led by Professor Maria Fiatarone Singh in collaboration with Professor Lindy Clemson. The program for translation (HipFit) is a combined exercise and multi-disciplinary approach to improving frailty post hip fracture. You will also work closely with other research group members depending on the nature of the work.



In this role you will:


critically appraise the literature on implementation and translational studies conducted using related interventions and models of practice change
manuscript preparation using current data if relevant in collaboration with investigators
present at forums and conferences and contribute to communication and engagement activities using social media and regional networks
conduct pilot work in translating HipFit and contribute to grant writing
work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

a relevant tertiary qualification, completed PhD in such fields as exercise physiology, dietetics or physiotherapy
specific research experience in exercise, nutrition, or frailty in the area of ageing
experience in data gathering and analysis methods pertinent to engagement of older people
well-developed data analysis and interpretation skills
track record of performing literature reviews and manuscript preparation capabilities and publication in peer-reviewed journals
excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective collaborative working relationships
excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills including good report writing skills with high level of attention to detail
