Applications are invited for an EPSCR-funded Research Associate to work in Professor Sara Rankin’s Regenerative Pharmacology group. The overall aim of the project is to assess the potential of a novel biomaterial developed by Professor Julian Jones (Materials Department Imperial) to promote chondrogenesis.
You will investigate the ability of different 3D printed scaffolds to support chondrogenesis of Mesenchymal stem cell in vitro and in vivo. Additionally, you will perform in vivo experiments to assess the rate of degradation of the scaffold and whether the biomaterial generates an immune response in vivo. This project will utilise a range of in vivo, in vitro and molecular techniques. Analysis of experiments will involve flow cytometry, ELISAs, immunohistochemistry and qPCR.
You should have a PhD in Pharmacology/Stem cell biology or a related subject, or equivalent research, industrial or commercial experience. You should have demonstrable experience with in vivo models and have an interest in stem cell biology and chondrogenesis.
This post is full-time and fixed-term until 30 June 2019, and it is based at South Kensington Campus.
