Postdoctoral Fellow in Carbohydrate Chemical Biology

    • Fixed-term (2.5 years)

    Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a 2.5 year (30 month) fixed-term Postdoctoral Fellowship in Carbohydrate Chemical Biology to work under the leadership of Professor Antony Fairbanks. The project, funded by the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (MBIE), concerns the manufacture of glycoproteins, and will entail aspects of molecular biology, protein expression and purification, enzymology, biocatalysis, and some carbohydrate and peptide chemistry.

    The successful candidate will hold a PhD in the chemical biology of carbohydrates, or a related area of glycoscience or a relevant closely related subject (e.g. in Biochemistry/Chemical Biology/Biocatalysis/Molecular Biology), or will have submitted a thesis prior to taking up the appointment. Relevant experience in the production and characterisation of glycoproteins will be a distinct advantage.
