The Program in Solid Tumors and Biomarkers of the Center for Applied Medical Research (CIMA)-Univeristy of Navarra is offering a Junior Bioinformatician position to join a project on Personalized Medicine in cancer. The project is based on Genomic Technologies (NGS panels, exomes and RNASeq). The candidate will work in a highly multidisciplinary work, where basic science is combined with computational biology and translational medicine. The candidate will be in charge of the genomics and transcriptomics data analysis and the development of novel methodologies for the stratification of patients and the association of genomic traits with cancer diagnosis and treatment. The position is open to start working immediately and will last initially for two and a half years with a midterm performance evaluation. Depending on the performance at the end of the project and availability of funds, new extensions may be offered in the future.

    Requirements
    - University degree in informatics, telecommunications, bioinformatics, bioengineering, biology or biochemistry (with specialization in bioinformatics) or any equivalent high degree.
    - Knowledge in statistical analysis tools (R/Bioconductor, Matblab...) or programming languages (Python, Perl, Java...)
    - Previous experience or knowledge in data analysis (statistical analysis, clustering and classification methods...) and in high throughput genomic analysis methodologies (microarrays, NGS, etc)

    Additional merits considered, among other:
    - Experience in other biological high throughout data analysis technologies (proteomics, biological databases)
    - Experience in Linux/Unix backgrounds and HPC systems
    - Knowledge in the field of Biomedical Research, and especially in Oncology.

Applicants should submit a dossier that includes a cover letter that describes his or her professional interests, a CV, and the names of two referees to [email protected].
