This post will be a Fixed Term Contract for 12 months This is a Full-time – 100 % full time equivalent, or Part-time – % to be decided.
We are seeking a postdoctoral research associate to work on an exciting 12-month project to determine how therapeutic radionuclides can be used most effectively. Despite the use of radionuclides for therapy becoming more commonplace, their biological effects are poorly understood. This means that we do not know if radiopharmaceuticals are being used to their maximum potential. The aim of this project is to carry out an in-depth and structured set of mostly in vitro and some in vivo experiments to work out under which conditions radioactivity emitting alpha particles and electrons are most effective without harming healthy cells.
Candidates with a PhD in radiobiology, biology, pharmaceutical sciences, radionuclide therapy, radionuclide imaging, or radiochemistry will be considered. Independence, initiative and problem solving abilities are prime requirements for this role, as is the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively. In return, the candidate will benefit working in a dynamic highly interdisciplinary environment with state-of-the art imaging facilities.
This position is funded by a Springboard Award from the Academy of Medical Sciences.
The selection process will include a presentation and a panel interview.
