    A BBSRC funded post-doctoral position is available in the research group of Dr Sarah Barry from 1st Oct 2017. The Barry group focuses on investigating the biosynthesis of bacterial natural products using techniques in molecular microbiology, chemistry and biochemistry.

    This project will focus on the investigation of heme dependent enzymes in the biosynthetic pathway of a natural product and requires experience in enzyme kinetics, cloning and mutagenesis. Experience in Streptomyces genetics would be an additional advantage.

    The successful candidate will join the growing Chemistry Department at King’s College London where they will work within a vibrant multidisciplinary research laboratory. Applicants should have completed a PhD or have submitted a thesis, in natural product enzymology or a related field. The candidate should have a proven track record of research excellence as evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals. They should have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and highly organised.

    This will be a full time, fixed term post for three years.

    The selection process will include a presentation and a panel interview.
