    Duties and responsibilities
    We are seeking four highly motivated and experienced post-doctoral research scientist with a background in molecular biology, functional genomics and epigenetics, cell biology, reproductive and epithelial physiology to join the research team of the recently appointed ERA Chair (Senior Research Fellow Alireza Fazeli) in the Institute of Biomedicine and Translational Medicine, University of Tartu. The research fellows will work closely with the ERA Chair team. The ERA Chair research team is focused on investigating the mechanism of complex diseases such as infertility and chronic inflammatory diseases. The Department of Pathophysiology in the University of Tartu has excellent genomic, epigenomics, proteomics, cell biology and animal model investigation systems. The principal task of the research fellows will be to devise and conduct research projects in close collaboration with the ERA chair to understand the intercellular communication and epigenetic basis of the gametes- and embryo-maternal communication as well as inter-cellular communcation during chronic inflamatory diseases. The post holder will be responsible for:
    • The design of study protocols and perform experiments in close collaboration with ERA Chair
    • Supervision of PhD students involved in the project
    • Collaboration with other members of the research group
    • Reporting and publishing of obtained results
    • Participation in knowledge transfer and public awareness activities
    • Participation and input into commercilalisatrion activities

    Required qualifications
    Research degree or an equivalent qualification

    Required experience
    We seek candidates who may have some of the following expertise: • Molecular Biology • Cell culture • Proteomics • Functional genomics and epigenomcs • Transcriptomics • Maternal communication with gametes and embrüo • Genetics of complex diseases • Genetic epidemiology Experience and/or willingness to participate in knowledge transfer and public awareness activities is considered a strong plus. Any experience working on the commercialization of research will also be a plus. The candidates with following experiences would be prefered: • Experience of work in a R&D institution or University at postdoctoral level • Evidence of peer reviewed publications in high impact factor journals

    Required language skills
    The candidate’s English skills must be sufficient for communication and writing in his or her speciality.

    Starting at 01.07.2017, temporary contract to 30.06.2018
    Workload 1,00; and the classroom teaching load up to 64 academic hours per calendar year

    - Candidates for the position of professor or lead research fellow shall present a statement not exceeding 1500 words of the aims to be achieved during the term in the position, and the outline of an action plan for achieving these.
