    Starting Salary £30,162 - £32,975 per annum

    Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Scientist to join the Group of Dr Lori Passmore to study mRNA polyadenylation and deadenylation in yeast. The candidate will use transcriptome-wide techniques and in vitro reconstitutions to understand the mechanistic basis of polyA tail metabolism. This work will integrate with our high-resolution structural studies of the relevant complexes.

    The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a relevant subject, and expertise in RNAseq, ChIPseq and/or CLIPseq. They should also have experience with some of the following: RNA biology, transcription-related processes, cell culture, protein purification.

    The successful applicant will be awarded a three-year Career Development Fellowship funded by a new ERC Consolidator Grant. The fellowship is a training and development position for a post-doctoral scientist who has recently completed their doctoral studies, is moving into a new research discipline, or has limited experience of key transferable skills.
