Failure of aerospace composite structures can be life threatening for passengers and financially catastrophic for the operator and the manufacturer. Conceiving, modelling and opimizing novel types of efficient multidisciplinary structures is of paramount importance.
Applications are invited for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate post within the Composites Group of the University. A fixed-term 18 month contract will be offered to the successful candidate. Remuneration will depend on previous experience but the appointee should be expecting to receive a salary of £29,000 - £36,000 per annum.
The successful candidate is expected to make significant contributions to the development of multiscale and wave propagation modelling tools as well as robust damage identification tools for industrial composites. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a consistent publication track record in the areas of numerical modelling and composite structures.
