The Cancer Research UK Cancer Therapeutics Unit, part of the Division of Cancer Therapeutics, is a multidisciplinary 'bench to bedside' centre, comprising around 160 staff dedicated to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. The CR-UK Cancer Therapeutics Unit’s exciting goal is to discover high quality drug candidates for validated biological targets and to progress these candidates to clinical trial. All the scientific disciplines are in place to make this possible, including medicinal chemistry, biology, drug metabolism and clinical specialists.
We are seeking a highly motivated Biologist to work in our new Translational Cancer Discovery Team (led by Professor Rajesh Chopra), located in well-equipped laboratories in Sutton, South London. The successful applicant will use mass spectrometry, molecular, biochemical and cellular techniques to identify and characterise novel molecular targets involved in the immunomodulation of tumour progression.
This is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed biologist to make an important contribution to improved therapies for cancer patients, while gaining experience and training in drug discovery skills in an Institute with a track record of success. Salary will start between
£29,960 and £40,530 and the appointment will be for a fixed term of 3 years.
