A postdoctoral position is available to work on the project “Non-Classicality with a View Towards Applications in Quantum Technologies”, based at the Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Scientific Computing (IMECC) of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. The project is coordinated by Prof. Marcelo Terra Cunha who will also act as supervisor, and focuses on foundational and applied aspects of quantum theory. The hired person is expected to work in close collaboration with Arthur Dutra, a PhD candidate already engaged in the project.
The fellowship is for a period of 20 months.
The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and have solid knowledge in some of the
following areas:
● Foundations of Quantum Theory
● Bell Scenarios (standard and generalized)
● Prepare-and-Measure Scenarios
● Quantum advantage in communication problems
● Implementation of Convex Optimization Algorithms
This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive
a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the
amount of BRL 12,000.00 monthly, as well as a research contingency fund equivalent to 10%
of the annual fellowship value for research-related expenses.
The position is available to start immediately. No decision will be made until 06/05/25, but I
