Sport Science Postdoctoral Researcher / S&C Coach (Free Housing | 2 Year Term | Industry-Embedded)



    LOGISTICS:
    - FREE housing is provided while employed in addition to $45,000K USD annual compensation.
    - Modern office spaces and any other relevant research equipment costs are fully funded by the company.
    - Full health insurance is provided by the company.
    - This 2-year full-time employment on-site position begins May 1st 2023 in Silicon Valley (Redwood City, California, USA).
    - For International applicants: Immigration Work Visa fees will be paid for by the company and sponsored by the company.
    - For International applicants: Should a renewal of the work visa be needed it will be paid for entirely by the company along with the attorney renewal fees.

    DESCRIPTION:
    - This Phase 1 (two years) funded research project will systematically critique the theoretical underpinnings of “agility” and attempt to offer a more robust paradigm useful in both academia and industry. After which an optimized testing and evaluation protocol will be innovated that solves for current options within the literature.
    - Lead collaborators on this project are preeminent researchers on the topic of agility and youth sport science:
    • Dr. Scott Talpey (Federation University)
    • Dr. Tania Spiteri (Edith Cowan University)
    • Dr. Thomas Dos'Santos (Manchester Metropolitan University)
    - You will produce two academic journal publications as first author. You will also have the opportunity to co-author with other staff researchers on multiple different publications. You will present research outputs to both academic and industry audiences.
    - This opportunity is for innovative sport scientists wanting to advance their scholarship. This position frees scholars from teaching responsibilities by allowing them to focus on research during the early stages of their careers while getting experience in practical applications simultaneously.
    - This postdoctoral researcher will form part of an enthusiastic team of graduate students. This industry-embedded role is one part scientist and one part practitioner. To experience the research subject matter more profoundly you will engage in conducting Strength&Conditioning coaching with athletes. Specialized skills will be taught and developed through mentorship.

    CANDIDATES:
    - PhD (or nearly finished) is required in a related sport science discipline (biomechanics, physiology, psychology, etc). Evidence of degree completion or current status will be requested.
    - Fitness background or former significant athletic experience is require such as:
    • (international applicants) school representative athlete, club representative athlete, regional (or higher) representative athlete
    • (domestic applicants) high school varsity or college athlete
    - Coaching experience is preferred.
