Simulation and Lab Technician

    Your Commitment
    The College of Health Science invites applications for the position of Simulation and Lab Technician.
    Reporting to the Associate Dean, College of Health Sciences, the successful candidate will be responsible to support the technical requirements for implementation of laboratories and simulations; to provide support for equipment setup and breakdown, program simulation scenarios into software, operate software and audiovisual equipment during simulations, and provide onsite simulator and equipment maintenance. The incumbent will ensure all equipment for labs and simulations are running properly and efficiently; in addition to operating, troubleshooting and maintaining highly specialized lab and simulation technology, equipment and supplies. The Simulation and Lab Technician will serve as a resource for faculty utilizing labs and simulation equipment; collaborate and educate faculty to support teaching, learning and research using simulation technology. In addition, s/he will maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment required for labs and simulations. The incumbent will ensure quality improvement and make recommendations, as appropriate.

    On an overall basis, the successful incumbent will be a core personnel for ensuring effectiveness and efficiency in the lab and simulation operations at the College of Health Sciences.

    Qualifications
    -Minimum Bachelor’s degree in health education program or relevant field required (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience); Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or relevant field may also be considered (for advanced technical knowledge and skills in electronics, digital IT/AV systems, production and software support)
    -Minimum 3 years relevant experience; demonstrated technical experience of working in health science laboratories and/or medical simulations preferred.

    -Able to work independently with professionalism and sound judgement
    -Able to work on schedules driven by constant deadlines and shifting priorities
    -Able to work with attention to detail, concern for order and quality, and technical expertise
    -Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language
