CRISPR Diagnostics Development Scientist

We are seeking a post-doctoral researcher with a background in CRISPR diagnostics. The position will join a collaboration between the University of NSW and Sydney based biotechnology company BioPoint.
UNSW and BioPoint have developed technology that can detect very low levels of nucleic acid and proteins using a novel amplification method based on cas enzymes and DNA constructs.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial researcher who can lead the development of a new product range. You will have completed a PhD in the CRSIPR diagnostics space or have significant post-doctoral position in this area. You will have lateral flow and project management experience.
Initially you will be responsible for transferring the technology developed at UNSW in to BioPoint. You will then focus on refining and optimising the technology to maximise sensitivity and to identify issues with the application to both environmental and clinical samples. It is anticipated that time will be split between the UNSW campus and BioPiont’s laboratory at Belrose on the north shore of Sydney.
