We are recruiting a technically oriented Research Fellow to contribute to the excellent applied research within CENTRIC as leading Centre of Excellence in Terrorism, Resilience, Intelligence and Organised Crime Research. The position is located within the recently funded UKRI project “3PO - Protecting public-facing professionals and their dependents online". 3PO is an ambitious, multi-disciplinary project lead by CENTRIC and conducted with researchers from UCL, Oxford, Cambridge and Napier Universities.
The role would suit someone with a software engineering or computer science background looking to conduct research on solutions to protect people from online harms within the scope of the 3PO project.
Working with the Principal Investigator and the CENTRIC Technical Lead, you will guide the development of harm protection tools in 3PO, supporting them in conceptualising, coordinating and dissemination of the research activities inside CENTRIC as well as with outside partners.
You’ll have a PhD in a relevant subject area (or working towards), alongside substantial experience in research and/or software developing and evaluating web applications or artificial intelligence solutions.
Please note this job is eligible for the Global Talent Visa - UK Research and Innovation endorsement route. Please visit GOV.UK for information. Alternatively, the University may be able to sponsor the employment of international applicants in this role; this will depend on a number of factors specific to the individual applicant.
*Please note this position requires frequent travel and often at short notice, particularly to Europe. Therefore the ability to travel and work in Europe freely is an essential requirement of this post.
