PostDoc position
Better understanding and phenotypic control of
Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells
in Vienna / Austria for 40 hours a week
*The project*
A major focus of the project lies on achieving a more robust CHO cell phenotype and gaining better understanding of epigenetic mechanisms for improved performance control of production cells to ensure a stable and reliable process outcome. Main tasks for this position will be to support, train and help the team with experimental study design, lab work, evaluation of results, project management and lab organization.

Ideally, you have a background in biotechnology and good know-how about CHO cell research. You should also have
- a doctoral degree/PhD in biotechnology, molecular biology or related field
- expertise and scientific practice in the following areas (the more the better): animal cell culture techniques, cell line engineering, molecular biology methods, CRISPR, library screens, epigenetics, glycobiology
- sound knowledge in statistics, experience in data analysis
- an independent working style as well as ability to work in teams
- motivation, team spirit and an appetite to learn
- an organized and proactive work attitude
*That’s what you should know*
The research will take place in the working group of Prof. Nicole Borth, located at the BOKU University, Vienna.
- The annual gross salary is set between EUR 55,000 and EUR 58,800.
This corresponds to a monthly net amount of between EUR 2,520 and EUR 2,650 (paid 14 times a year).
- Starting date: as soon as possible until December 2023 (depending on outcome, extension possible)
