Postdoctoral Positions in Genetics - Albert Einstein College of Medicine

Applications are solicited for the Chair's Award postdoctoral positions in the Department of Genetics. Chair's Award positions are eligible for salary supplementation beyond the NIH postdoctoral fellowship salary scale. Positions are available in basic, translational and computational genetics. Specific opportunities exist in:

Molecular and genetic studies of cell communication, including mechanisms and roles of cell competition in development, disease, and regeneration, as well as signals that regulate neuronal fate specification (Nick Baker)

Mechanisms governing nervous system development and the establishment and modification of synaptic connectivity by experience (Hannes Buelow)

Biochemical, molecular, developmental and bioinformatic approaches to the epigenetics of embryonic, hematopoietic and neural stem cells, development and cancer (Meelad Dawlaty)

Computational and experimental studies of non-coding, rare variants in the development of autism and neuro-developmental disorders, including molecular and neurophysiological studies and genome editing of induced pluripotent stem cells (John Greally)

Role of the tumor suppressor INI1/SMARCB1, a component of the chromatin remodeling SWI/SNF complex, in replication of the HIV-1 and SARS-CoV2 viruses and in cancers (Ganjam Kalpana)

Computational and statistical analysis of whole genome sequence data in the study of DiGeorge/22q11 deletion syndrome (Bernice Morrow)

Genetic basis of rare and complex diseases studied in diverse populations (Srilakshmi Raj)

Transcriptional control of neuronal development studied through genomic, cell biological and biochemical approaches in Drosophila and in human organoids (Julie Secombe)

Multi-omics studies of maternal nutrition and disease risk causing health disparities (Masako Suzuki)

Mechanisms of somatic mutagenesis in vivo and its functional contribution to human aging and diseases including cancer (Jan Vijg)

Genetics of aging and complex human disease studied through data integration, algorithm development, and software implementation in computational genetics and systems biology (Zhengdong Zhang)

Development and application of bioinformatics workflows to construct genetic and epigenetic regulatory networks from large scale data to understand development and diseases (Deyou Zheng)

Cardiovascular development and regeneration using advanced genetic, epigenetic and single cell technologies (Bin Zhou).
