We seek an outstanding and highly motivated early-career scientist in the fields of transcription factor biology, epigenetics, and/or RNA splicing. The position will involve novel studies of the cellular programs required to maintain and reverse virus latency. Qualified candidates will have an opportunity to design research projects that leverage cutting-edge approaches, to include integrated multimodal single cell analyses. This postdoctoral fellowship provides a unique opportunity to conduct research with broad scientific and technical impact.
The Tsibris Laboratory studies the biology of HIV latency in the context of human disease. The guiding principle of our work is a cure for HIV. The Tsibris lab is located in Cambridge, MA, USA, an area rich in world-class academic centers, pioneering biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, and a diverse, welcoming, and inclusive community. Postdoctoral Fellows will hold the academic rank of Research Fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School and be provided a competitive salary and benefits. Appointments are anticipated for a minimum of two years, with renewal after the first year contingent upon satisfactory performance.
Applicants must hold a PhD degree, or the equivalent, and have significant expertise in cellular biology, molecular biology, or epigenetics. The ideal candidate will be motivated to apply their experiences to study the biology of the immune system and retroviral pathogens. Prior virology work is not required. Publications in leading journals and completion of a doctoral degree in a relevant scientific field before the start date are required. The start date is flexible.
