    The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology is a research institute within UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). UKRI is an entity that brings together nine partners to create an independent organisation with a strong voice for research and innovation, more information can be found at www.ukri.org.

    Applications are invited for two Postdoctoral Scientist positions in the group of Dr Ingo Greger to undertake research into the organisation and gating regulation of glutamate receptor complexes, using structural biology approaches.

    This project builds on our recent structural and functional work (Herguedas et al., Science 2016 & 2019; Zhang et al., Nature 2021), and aims to characterise AMPA receptor modulation by auxiliary proteins, and therapeutic drugs. Candidates should have a PhD, and experience with cryo-electron microscopy. Experience with cryo-electron tomography would be advantageous.

    The successful applicant will be awarded a 3-year Career Development Fellowship/ Postdoctoral Training Scheme position. This is a training and development position for a Postdoctoral Scientist who has recently completed their doctoral studies, is moving into a new research discipline or has limited experience of key transferable skills.
