Applications are invited for a Temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science
This role will contribute to a collaborative project which aims to develop health literacy among Irish adolescents. This project is funded by the Irish Heart Foundation schools programme suite and the project team have been invited to lead a National Health Literacy Demonstration Project (NHLDP) by the World Health Organization’s Global Coordination Mechanism for the control and prevention of noncommunicable diseases.
This is an academic research role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.
The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.
In addition to the Principal Duties and Responsibilities listed below, the successful candidate will also carry out the following duties specific to this project:
Co-ordinate, manage and collaborate with the project working group to ensure alignment of key deliverables are achieved and in progress.
Finalise the development of a Health Literacy Instrument.
Recruit and engage post-primary schools to take part in the assessment.
Assess Health Literacy in a nationally representative sample of Irish adolescents.
Collect, analyse and report on key findings of the programme.
Contribute to the writing of research articles, research reports, and updates for
funding agencies and project stakeholders.
Salary: € 39,522 per annum
