    Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within School of Education.

    This is an exciting opportunity for an early career researcher to work collaboratively with an internationally recognised team of leading researchers on a research programme to support the higher education needs of women educators and leadership. The PINNACLE II research project programme is concerned with the education of women teachers and leaders, with particular reference to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education); Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and Sustainable Development Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities). The project offers an early career researcher an outstanding opportunity to engage creatively with global education issues. The post-doctoral fellow will have excellent opportunities to publish in scholarly journals, and to present research at international conferences. The international links for this project will also allow the post-doctoral fellow to develop professional networks at the University of Oxford, JNU India, and several leading education institutes.

    The ideal candidate will have experience of being a part of a large research project, and will be enthusiastic about both the research and teaching elements of academic work. The successful candidate will conduct a specified programme of research, and will be supported by research training and development, under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator. The highest level of competence in written and oral communication in English is essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate that they have the necessary interpersonal skills to work on a collaborative project, and to provide motivation and support to their team members.

    This is an academic research role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

    The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.


    Fixed Salary: €39,131 per annum
