Related to a postdoc position in Israel

    User: nqchi - 21 September 2012 14:06

I got offer for apostdoc in TAU, Israel. Although the supervisor has confirmed (through an email),an official offer letter has not sent to me yet. Since the time I got theemail, it is a month. I have the threequestions:1/ My question is why it takes so long, and is it a normalprocess in Israel? 2/ In case of that a professor confirmed a postdoc position,is there any possibility that the university or other authorities reject theposition. Mypostdoc fund comes from Marie Curie Actions Program. Please tell me the salaryand benefit if you have information. My supervisor doesn’t know exactly aboutthis matter. Thank you for all your valuable replies in advance. 1/ My question is why it takes so long, and is it a normalprocess in Israel? 2/ In case of that a professor confirmed a postdoc position,is there any possibility that the university or other authorities reject theposition. On 1) no idea sorry. On 2) basic salary is what the normal salary for an Israeli postdoc would be then you get mobility and travel allowances on top. It usually works out as a nice salary unless postdocs in that country are really badly paid.
