POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW: CHROMOSOME SEGREGATION AND CELL CYCLE
Wellcome Trust Centre for Gene Regulation and Expression, University of Dundee

A post-doctoral position is available in Professor Tomo Tanaka’s lab for 3 years for study of chromosome segregation and cell cycle using budding yeast as a model organism. The project will exploit our expertise in advanced high-resolution fluorescence microscopy for live cell imaging and in phospho-proteome analyses using mass-spectrometry. Recent publications from the lab include Nature 428, 93 (2004); Nature 434, 987 (2005); Cell 125, 1297 (2006); Genes Dev 21, 3319 (2007); Dev Cell 18, 248 (2010) and Dev Cell in press (August 2010).

Applicants must have a PhD with research experience in molecular biology such as PCR and plasmid construction. Prior experience in yeast is not required. Experience in protein purification, image analyses/computing or biophysics/single-molecule analyses is not necessary but would be appreciated. The post-doc fellow taking up this position will be based in the well-equipped laboratory of the Wellcome Trust Biocentre at the University of Dundee.
