A postdoctoral position is available in the group of Dr Peter Sushko at University College London to work on computational modelling of electrides–materials, in which electrons behave as anions. The post holder will be involved in modelling of electronic structure, transport characteristics, optical properties, and thermodynamic stability of crystalline and amorphous forms of sub-nanoporous inorganic electrides in collaboration with an experimental group at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. This project is funded by the Tokyo Institute of Technology for 1 year in the first instance with the possibility of extension to 3 years. Key Requirements The successful candidate will have completed PhD in condensed matter physics or materials science or related areas, have extensive experience of quantum-mechanical and classical computational modelling of materials properties, and will be motivated to collaborate with experimental partners.
