at the Turku Centre for Biotechnology, University of Turku, Finland for the period of September 1, 2010 – December 31, 2012. We are seeking for a scientist to be responsible for implementing and developing data analysis methods for new next-generation and single molecule sequencing platforms for epigenetic and transcriptomics applications together with our senior scientists. Participation to collaborative research projects as well as establishing an indpendent line of reserach is highly encouraged. FMSC is an internationally recognized Functional Genomics Core Facility with state-of-the-art research platforms for next generation and single molecule sequencing. FMSC is part of the Turku Centre for Biotechnology (www.btk.fi), a joint institute of the University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University and a vibrant research Centre with state-of-the-art core facilities. Successful candidates are expected to have Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational systems biology, computer sciences, mathematics/statistics and publication track record in a relevant field. Candidates with prior experience in interdisciplinary research projects are preferred. Salary The salary is in accordance with the State’s salary system (Universities) for teaching and research personnel level 5-6 (Senior Researcher/postdoctoral fellow), where the work specific salary component is between 2636 – 3132 €/month. In addition, there is a share increase based on the personal performance, which is, at most, 46% of the base salary.
