(Ref. No. KR – 07) Job title: Post-Doctoral Researcher in Nanowires infused Polymer Nanocomposites Responsible To: Dr. Kafil M. Razeeb A postdoctoral researcher position is available within the Microelectronics Applications Integration group. We are on the look out for a suitable postdoctoral researcher with a background in electrochemistry. Specifically we are looking for one who has expertise in fabrication of metallic nanowires, nanotubes and characterization (thermal, electrical, etc.) of these structures. Considerable effort is currently dedicated in using these structures and the nanowire-polymer nanocomposites as thermal interface and in electrical interconnection. Main Duties and Responsibilities: • Fabrication of different types of metallic nanowires and nanocomposites. • Thermo-mechanical characterisation of nanowire-polymer nano-composites. • Electrical characterisation of nano-composites. • Attend project meetings, present results and write project reports. • Contribute to journal and conference publications as co-author and first author. • Supervise research students and undergraduate project students. Qualifications/Start Date: • PhD in Chemistry or Materials Science • Available from August 2010 The ideal candidate will: • Have a PhD in Chemistry or Materials Science, or a related subject area. • Have relevant research experience in processing and characterisation of nano-wires, nano-tubes and nano-composite materials. • Analysis of electrical and thermo-mechanical data. • Be highly motivated. • Have the ability to disseminate research material effectively. • Good organizational, report writing and interpersonal skills. • Supervisory skills (for supervision of undergraduate and research students).
