The HERACLES Cardiovascular Research Network and the Cardiovascular Epidemiology and Genetics Research Group of the Municipal Institute for Medical Research (IMIM) (see www.imim.es) offers a 1- to 2- year post-doctoral research fellowship in epidemiology and mechanisms of coronary artery disease. Research agenda: Within a multidisciplinary research environment (HERACLES, www.redheracles.net), the post-doctoral fellow will participate in a population register of myocardial infarction (REGICOR, www.regicor.org), studies of biomarkers for coronary disease, and participation and preparation of future European projects on population screening to improve cardiovascular disease prevention. The first 12-month fellowship will begin by the third quarter 2010, to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicant qualifications: Required qualifications include a medical degree or postgraduate training in epidemiology (master’s degree or similar); preparation in preventive medicine and/or public health preferred. Doctoral defence must have been completed within the past 4 years (after 1/1/2006). Demonstration of good oral and written communication skills in English is essential.
