Mechanical Engineering, Texas A&M at Qatar 

The Micro Scale Thermo Fluids (MSTF) Laboratory in the Mechanical Engineering Program at Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ) invites applications for a post doctorate position in the field of Fluid Mechanics and Heat transfer. This is a full-time position; the initial appointment will be for one year but may be extended for three years upon performance evaluation.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who has experimental back ground in fluid mechanics and heat transfer. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a faculty for conducting experimental research and interacting with academia and industry. In addition to traditional laboratory equipments, the candidate should be comfortable in design and operation of high pressure flow facility and working with data acquisition, high speed cameras, and laser based diagnostic systems.

Major duties include but are not limited to: setting up and conducting experiments in high pressure CO2 systems to study fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics of Super Critical Fluids, being responsible for all aspects of the daily operation of the experimental set up, maintaining the equipment, enforcing laboratory safety regulations, and preparing appropriate laboratory procedures. Publishing in scientific conferences and journals are strongly encouraged.

Minimum education requirement is a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have expertise in the experimental fluid mechanics and heat transfer. Experience with computer programming and data processing algorithms is preferable.
