Postdoctoral Research Scientist

Starting salary in range £26,610 to £29,566 per annum

The Babraham Institute is a charity that is world renowned for its research in life sciences that lead to new medicines and treatments for human diseases.

We are seeking a talented Postdoctoral Research Scientist to study epigenetic and nuclear organisation dynamics underlying V(D)J recombination of the multigene immunoglobulin loci, in order to understand normal antibody production, and dysfunctional recombination that can lead to lymphomas.

The internationally recognized Laboratory of Chromatin and Gene Expression will provide an excellent training and research environment for the motivated scientist. The project will utilise state-of-the-art Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and high-throughput fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH). Imaging, Bioinformatic and Next Generation Sequencing support is also provided at The Babraham Institute. This is a limited term contract with funding available for up to 3 years.

Applicants must have a PhD in Genetics, Immunology or a related subject, and a proven track record in research. They must also have a good working knowledge of gene regulation and epigenetics and experience in molecular biology. Experience in chromatin immunoprecipitation (CHIP), 4C, NGS, FISH and bioinformatics would also be particularly beneficial.
